AAAPOS RetailManager POS — bank compatibility

AAAPOS RetailManager is a point-of-sale system for fashion and apparel, general retail, gifts and homeware and retail, and 3 more, built by AAAPOS. It was previously sold as MYOB RetailManager. A Victorian support shop that spent twenty years servicing MYOB RetailManager and then bought the product outright.

Certified on mx51 and on Tyro. Worth knowing the difference: Tyro is its own acquirer, so that route means banking with Tyro. The mx51 route does not.

The integration covers cash out. Tyro rates it a Premium partner — their top tier.

The mx51 integration uses Spice and was last certified in August 2025, on Windows.

This is one of the odder ownership stories in Australian retail software. AAAPOS, based in Banyule in Victoria, spent more than 20 years providing support, hardware, training and customisations for MYOB RetailManager customers. On 1 March 2022 it acquired RetailManager from MYOB and became the owner of the product it had been servicing.

For existing RetailManager sites that was good news in a way a vendor handover usually is not: support moved to a company that already knew the software, with longer hours than MYOB offered — 7am to 7pm weekdays and 9am to 5pm weekends — and a stated intent to add features customers had been asking for.

It stays an outright-licence product rather than a subscription, which is unusual now and is exactly why a chunk of the installed base has never moved off it.
