Pratham POS is a registered business name of Achyut Labs Pty Ltd, a Melbourne company with an ABN active since 7 March 2020 and GST registration from April 2022. The head office address given is on St Kilda Road, Melbourne. It sells the software plus the hardware, and runs its support from Australia. On the payments side it names Tyro, ANZ Worldline and Nuvei and claims 18-plus EFTPOS integrations — unusually broad for a vendor this size, and genuinely useful if you are tied to a particular bank.

The niche it has fallen into is barbers and hair. Tyro's listing describes it as highly customised for barber store chains worldwide, and the brand list on its own site backs that up: Made Haircare, Cuts and Colour, Barber Crew, Barber Dome, Classic Barber, Color Crew, Hair to Hair, alongside food sites like Sweet Inspiration, GreenOak Burgers, Captain Cookes and Patel Pan House. The OnPrem version is the locally installed option rather than the cloud one, which still matters to operators who do not trust their internet.

What is not there: founders, a founding story, any ownership detail, and — notably — any independent reviews at all. Capterra, GetApp and Software Advice all list it with zero reviews. The "thousands of businesses" claim on its own site is self-reported with nothing behind it. Despite the Sanskrit-derived names, no source links the company to India; every public record we found is Australian.
