Ai-POSX POS — bank compatibility

Ai-POSX is a point-of-sale system for hospitality and retail, built by Ai-Menu. Brisbane-built, operating since 2014, and claims more than 3,000 venues across Australia and New Zealand.

Certified on mx51, which is the engine behind several banks’ own terminal offerings rather than something a merchant buys by name.

It handles tipping, phone and mail order and surcharging.

The mx51 integration uses SCI and was last certified in January 2026, on Android, Windows and iOS.

Ai-POSX is the core till in Ai-Menu's range. Ai-Menu is an Australian owned and operated hospitality technology company based in Brisbane, operating since 2014, and says it has more than 3,000 venues across Australia and New Zealand. Ai-POSX handles orders, menus, payments, staff and reporting, and every other product they sell plugs into it.

The range is really the point. Ai-QR for table QR ordering, Ai-Tablet, Ai-Takeaway, Ai-Pay, Ai-Booking, Ai-Kiosk for counter self-serve with upsell prompts, Ai-BumpX for the kitchen display, Ai-Manager, Ai-Chat and a newer Ai-Phone. Menus are controlled centrally from Ai-POSX, including the kiosk — which is the practical difference between running one menu and quietly running four that drift apart. They sell into restaurants, cafés, fast food, pubs, hotels, clubs, retail and franchises, and name venues including The Henchman, Bread And Butter and The Lookout Bar.

Two things to keep in perspective. The headline performance numbers in their marketing — a 146% average profit increase, for one — are the company's own claims with nothing independent behind them, so discount accordingly and ask how it was measured. And a single-vendor stack is a genuine trade-off either way: fewer integration seams and one phone number when something breaks, against being locked into one supplier's roadmap and pricing with no easy way to swap out just the kiosk or just the bookings.
