SmartPOS — bank compatibility

SmartPOS is a point-of-sale system for hospitality, built by Bepoz. Same stable as Bepoz, which means it is an Oolio product whether the badge says so or not.
Certified on mx51, which is the engine behind several banks’ own terminal offerings rather than something a merchant buys by name.
It handles pay at table, tipping, pre-authorisation, cash out and phone and mail order, plus 1 other capability.
The mx51 integration uses SPI .NET and was last certified in November 2019, on Windows.
The company behind this is the old Business Electronics operation out of Sydney — founded 1973, reselling office products and mechanical cash registers, then electronic registers in the 1980s, PC systems in the 1990s, and its own software from 2004 under the Bepoz name.
Since 2023 it has been part of Oolio, formed when Pemba Capital merged Bepoz with MSL Solutions, the ASX company it took private in a $120 million deal. Oolio now runs Bepoz, Idealpos, SwiftPOS, Deliverit and OrderMate across 22,000-plus venues. If you are weighing this up against an Idealpos or a SwiftPOS quote, be aware you are talking to the same parent twice.
Bepoz also has Bepoz.
