Poswise POS — bank compatibility

Poswise is a point-of-sale system for general retail, hospitality, restaurants and retail, built by CloudHQ4. Two brand names, one phone number — and the Salvos run 200-plus stores on it.

Certified on mx51 and on Tyro. Worth knowing the difference: Tyro is its own acquirer, so that route means banking with Tyro. The mx51 route does not.

The integration covers cash out, phone and mail order and surcharging. Tyro rates it a Power Up partner.

The mx51 integration uses SPI .NET and was last certified in May 2023, on Windows.

Poswise and CloudHQ4 are the same operation. Same Australian office, same phone numbers, two badges: Poswise is the POS brand, CloudHQ4 is the company one, and between them they sell point of sale, integrated EFTPOS, warehouse management and loyalty. They claim POS installed in over 2,000 sites across Australia and the region.

The customer list is the part worth reading, because it is not the usual cafe roll-call. Salvation Army stores — 200-plus of them — plus a car wash chain across seven sites with 79,000 registered customers, a sandwich franchise on 40-plus sites, and a showbag business running 78 tills. Op shops, car washes and franchise groups is a specific competence: a lot of terminals, low transaction values, and a head office that wants one view across all of it.

Which also tells you where you sit. If you are a single venue, you are not their centre of gravity — ask who else your size they support and who answers the phone on a Saturday.
