Coyote POS — bank compatibility

Point-of-sale system by Coyote Software · All point-of-sale systems

Coyote POS is a point-of-sale system for retail, built by Coyote Software. Brisbane, and it only does convenience stores and fuel-station foodstores — which is why it is any good at them.

Certified on Linkly, running on premise. Linkly reaches more acquirers than any other middleware in the market, which is why most POS start there.

The Linkly integration runs on premise.

Coyote Software is a Brisbane solutions provider selling POS software with the hardware and scanning gear to match, either as a complete package or as a module bolted onto something larger. The market is deliberately narrow: convenience stores, fuel-station foodstores and general stores. Named customers include BP Nightowl Southport, Chevron 7 Day Express Foodstore and Rochedale General Store.

Convenience is its own problem and the feature list reads straight off it — stock and inventory, promotions, purchasing, loyalty and a mobile app. A convenience store runs promotions and multibuys that change weekly, supplier-funded deals, scan data going back to wholesalers, shrinkage control with one person on shift, and tobacco and fuel categories that carry their own rules. A generic cloud POS does none of that well. Coyote also builds the Night Owl Convenience variant for the NightOwl chain, which is the other record under this vendor.

Small vendor, small market, local. That is fine for a single store or a small group in south-east Queensland. Ask about after-hours support before you commit, because a store trading to midnight needs a different support window to a shop that shuts at five, and ask which acquirers the Linkly path actually reaches for your bank.

Coyote Software also has Night Owl Convenience.
