CYPOS is a point-of-sale system for hospitality and retail, built by CYGEN CONSULTING. The register name for CYGEN Consulting's platform — Parramatta head office, Milpitas lab, roughly 1,000 locations.
Certified on mx51, which is the engine behind several banks’ own terminal offerings rather than something a merchant buys by name.
The integration covers surcharging.
The mx51 integration uses SCI and was last certified in March 2026, on Android and Windows.
CYPOS is listed against CYGEN Consulting, the Sydney company whose platform is sold publicly as CYGEN POS. Its Australian corporate office is at Level 3, 90 Phillip Street in Parramatta, with a US innovation centre in Milpitas, California. It supplies both the software and the hardware — an all-in-one dual-screen terminal with printer, drawer, scanner and integrated scale, plus mPOS, kiosks and handheld stocktake units.
Functionally the platform runs point of sale, loyalty and gift cards, integrated ecommerce, stocktake by PDT, QR-code ecommerce, inventory, reporting, in-store pickup and digital signage. The company's own claim is around 1,000 business locations globally; it is unaudited.
Target market is mixed retail and food — apparel, electronics, liquor, vape and multi-store retail, alongside bars, cafés, hotels, quick service and chicken shops, plus kiosk and self-service. If you are being quoted under one of these names and comparing it to the other, check you are not comparing the same company to itself.
