POBLE POS — bank compatibility

POBLE POS is a point-of-sale system for cafes, hospitality and restaurants, built by ECNESOFT. ECNESOFT's newest badge, and the one they say is now the main product.

Certified on Linkly and on Tyro. Worth knowing the difference: Tyro is its own acquirer, so that route means banking with Tyro. The Linkly route does not.

It handles split bills. Tyro rates it a Plus partner.

Poble is built by ECNESOFT, an Australian hospitality technology company trading since 2002 out of Silverwater in Sydney's west. ECNESOFT describes Poble as its primary product, which is a shift — its older line was eRestaurant, eTakeaway and eClever Retail, and Poble is the lightweight, counter-speed system it is pushing now. The same owner also runs two further POS businesses, POSBANK and POSNET, so the apparent number of independent vendors in this corner of the market is smaller than it looks.

The pitch is deliberately narrow. ECNESOFT says it does not adapt overseas software but builds for Australian hospitality "first — and only": GST handling, Tyro and Linkly EFTPOS integration, local support seven days a week. The venue mix they describe runs from Korean BBQ in Perth to play cafes in Sydney — independents and small groups rather than enterprise.

Lightweight is the word to probe. Fast at the counter and easy to train staff on is a real virtue, but ask what it does not do before you buy it for a venue with multiple revenue centres or complicated table flow.
