Ferve POS is a point-of-sale system for education, entertainment and leisure, government and ticketing, built by Ferve Tickets. Film festivals, essentially — the ticketing system behind Sydney Film Festival and MIFF, with a box-office counter attached.

Certified on Linkly, running in the cloud. Linkly reaches more acquirers than any other middleware in the market, which is why most POS start there.

The Linkly integration runs in the cloud.

Ferve is Australian owned and operated, working out of Cheltenham in Melbourne's south-east with a second address in Niagara Falls, Ontario. Its own site says "AUS owned and operated since 1996" and claims a 20-year history while its meta description says more than 15 years, so take the exact age loosely. Ferve Tickets is a white-label ticketing platform: online sales, iPhone, Android and iPad apps, access control with its FTScanTix scanning app, reporting, virtual event streaming, and integrated point of sale with Tyro EFTPOS. Customer data sits in a private cloud in Australia, it holds ISO 27001:2022 certification, and it says it has been carbon neutral since 2009.

The client list is the real signal and it is heavily arts and festivals: Sydney Film Festival, Melbourne International Film Festival, Melbourne Writers Festival, Brisbane Writers Festival, Melbourne Food and Wine Festival, Byron Bay Film Festival, Antenna Documentary Film Festival, Queerscreen, Golden Cinema and Bar, Sunset Cinema, Bondi Feast and Gertrude Opera. It says it scales from a single venue running 10 events up to 6,000 events, and that it is used in the EU, New Zealand, Canada and the USA as well as here.

For EFTPOS the thing that matters is where the card gets presented. A festival sells most tickets online, then needs a box office that can take walk-ups, memberships, passes, merchandise, gift vouchers and donations on one docket — often from a trestle table in a venue foyer on borrowed wifi. Ask about offline behaviour and how a terminal gets paired at a pop-up box office, because that is where these systems fall over, not on the website.

Ferve Tickets also has Ferve Tickets.
