Fujitsu PC-EFTPOS is a point-of-sale system for retail, built by Fujitsu Australia. A systems integrator, not a POS brand — and the Fujitsu name runs deeper in Australasian retail tech than most merchants realise.

Fujitsu Australia and New Zealand is an IT services and systems integration business, and this record reflects that. PC-EFTPOS is Linkly's former name, so what sits here is Fujitsu's own certified route to the payment layer rather than a packaged till you buy off a shelf. Its most visible work of this kind is SkyBus, where Fujitsu integrates and manages the account-based ticketing platform built on Masabi's Justride, running across e-kiosks and on-board hardware for a network that carried more than five million passengers a year before the pandemic across 14 express services.

Fujitsu's man on that project, ANZ public sector industry head Dave Lennon, made the integrator's case for it: the solution "was easily migrated to the existing kiosk and bus hardware", and user adoption was high because the new system was intuitive. That is the shape of Fujitsu's involvement in retail and transport payments here — making someone else's software reach someone else's terminal, reliably, at scale.

A footnote worth having if you work in retail systems: Vista Cinema, whose group software now runs in cinemas in 116 countries, was founded in New Zealand in 1996 as a joint venture between Village Force Cinemas and Madison Systems — the business that became Fujitsu. Fujitsu has been around the till in this region for thirty years without ever being the brand on the screen. If a Fujitsu integration is what sits between your POS and your terminal, the vendor conversation is a professional services one, not a product one.
