eziPos is a point-of-sale system for retail, built by Gap Solutions. Now branded EM POS by its maker — an Adelaide company that has been at this since 1992 and builds the scales as well as the software.

eziPos is the GaP Solutions till. Worth knowing up front that GaP now brands its POS line EM — EM POS at the counter, EM Cloud for the back office — so if you go searching for eziPos you will find integration directory listings and not much current marketing. It is the same company either way, out of Edwardstown in Adelaide and trading since 1992. Ask which generation you are being quoted and what moving between them involves.

Where it earns its keep is food retail detail that general-purpose POS packages skip entirely: scales and check weighing, electronic shelf labels, expiry date management, investment buy and auto-ordering, and forecourt for servos. GaP builds the hardware too — scales, labellers, ticket printers, self-checkout units — which removes the usual argument about whose fault it is when the scale and the till disagree.

Their customer base is independent food retail sitting inside the big banner groups, with Coles, Metcash, SPAR, IGA, BP and Shell logos on the site, and they list more than 100 integration partners across 19 categories. If you run a butcher, a bakery, an independent supermarket or a servo, that is the reason to take the call. If you run a boutique or a café, this is far more system than you need and you will pay for depth you never touch.
