Moni POS — bank compatibility

Moni POS is a point-of-sale system for cafes and hospitality, built by GoMenu. The retail half of an Auckland platform whose customer list is mostly grocery.

Certified on Linkly and on Tyro. Worth knowing the difference: Tyro is its own acquirer, so that route means banking with Tyro. The Linkly route does not.

The integration covers split bills.

The Linkly integration runs in the cloud.

Moni is the retail product from GPOS Limited of Mount Eden, Auckland — the same company behind GoMenu POS for hospitality and the older GPOS Windows server-based system they still support. Moni runs cloud-based on Android tablets, computers or compatible devices, with multi-store management, real-time inventory, loyalty, a free ecommerce site and a 14-day trial.

The customer logos are the real signal, and they are grocery rather than boutique: Foodstuffs, Four Square, Farro Fresh, Fruit World and Reduce to Clear, plus bakeries and Asian restaurants on the hospitality side. Scales, high SKU counts and thin margins is a different discipline to fashion retail, and this is plainly built for the former. That also explains the legacy Windows product still being carried — grocers do not re-platform on a whim.

It is a New Zealand company, so if you are in Australia ask about local support hours and who attends site before you sign. The deep reference base is across the Tasman.

GoMenu also has GoMenu POS and Moni F&B.
