Infor M3 is a point-of-sale system for hospitality, built by Infor. Not really a till — it is a Swedish-born ERP, now owned by Koch Industries, that happens to take card payments at a counter.
Certified on Linkly, running on premise. Linkly reaches more acquirers than any other middleware in the market, which is why most POS start there.
The Linkly integration runs on premise.
M3 started life as Movex at Intentia, a Swedish company founded in 1984 by Björn Algkvist, Mikael Agerås, Göran Felldin and Rune Groppfeldt, headquartered in Danderyd. Intentia bought Entra Data in 1991 and rebuilt Movex around it. Lawson Software merged with Intentia in April 2006, and Infor bought Lawson in 2011. Movex, then Lawson M3, then Infor M3 — three owners deep before it ever reached an Australian terminal.
Infor itself is owned by Koch Industries, which took full control in 2020 in a deal reported at around US$13 billion and runs Infor as a standalone subsidiary. Koch is the world's second-largest private company, operating in 60 countries. Infor's CEO at the time described the parent as a business with more than $110 billion in revenue that reinvests 90% of its earnings.
What M3 actually does: ERP for distribution and equipment dealers, fashion, food and beverage, industrial manufacturing and chemicals. If you run a café and you are comparing POS quotes, this is not on your shortlist. If you are a manufacturer or distributor already on M3 and you need a counter that takes cards, that is the use case this certification exists for.
Infor also has Infor Pathway.
