iteller is a point-of-sale system for hospitality, built by Intercard. The unattended card machine in the arcade, from the St. Louis company that reckons it invented amusement-industry debit cards in 1989.

Certified on Linkly, running on premise. Linkly reaches more acquirers than any other middleware in the market, which is why most POS start there.

The Linkly integration runs on premise.

The iTeller is Intercard's self-service card kiosk — the unit a customer walks up to in an arcade or family entertainment centre to buy a play card or load value onto one, with no staff member involved. Intercard was established in 1979, is headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri, and states that "In 1989 we introduced the first debit card system to the amusement industry."

The wider platform is cloud-based facility management for entertainment and leisure: debit card management, RFID readers, POS, cash management, marketing, loyalty and redemption. The branded stored-value product is the Intercard Fun Card, which can be loaded with cash plus bonus value. Customers span amusement parks, family entertainment centres, movie theatres and cruise lines, and the footprint is international — a recent run of installs covered eight countries including Australia and New Zealand, alongside Colombia, Egypt, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Qatar.

An unattended kiosk changes the payment question. There is nobody to re-swipe a card or hand over a receipt, so a failed transaction is a customer who walks off, and a device that drops offline mid-holidays costs real money across the venue because the games stop getting loaded. What you want to ask about is unattended certification, how declines and partial loads are handled without staff, and what the kiosk does when the network goes down — not the headline rate.

Intercard also has iCashier and iTellerPlus.
