Taptouch Hospitality is a point-of-sale system for bars and pubs, cafes, hospitality and quick service, and 2 more, built by Ivida Smart Technologies. Hardware-first — Ivida builds the dual-screen Android terminal, then the software on it.

Taptouch Hospitality comes from Ivida Smart Technologies Pty Ltd, and the company is a smart-retail hardware business as much as a software one. Alongside the POS they sell LED and LCD digital signage, electronic shelf labels and in-store traffic analysis cameras. CEO Scott Zhang's background is in chip manufacturing, which is a fair clue to where the engineering effort goes.

Taptouch itself is a dual 15.6-inch panel Android POS — one screen facing the operator, one facing the customer — with cash register, CRM, customer feedback, voucher and coupon functions on it. Ivida says venues integrating Taptouch have seen more than 13 per cent revenue growth and improved repeat custom, which is a vendor claim rather than an audited one, so treat it as the sales pitch it is.

That customer-facing second screen is the actual differentiator, and it is worth testing in a demo rather than taking on trust. The feedback and voucher features only earn their keep if staff can run them without slowing the queue.
