Taptouch Kiosk is a self-service kiosk for hospitality, built by Ivida Smart Technologies. A self-serve kiosk, not a counter till — and Taptouch builds the hardware itself rather than reselling someone else's box.

This is the self-ordering kiosk in the Taptouch range from Ivida Smart Technologies Pty Ltd. The hardware is their K23, a 21.5-inch unit, and because Taptouch makes both the kiosk and the POS, orders from the screen land in the same system as the counter, the QR codes and the delivery platforms. That matters more than it sounds: a bolted-on kiosk from a third party usually means a second menu to maintain and a reconciliation job at the end of the day.

The vendor claims over 4,000 venues across Australia, the UK, New Zealand and the Netherlands, and sells into cafés, full-service restaurants and quick service. The wider stack covers omnichannel ordering from counter, kiosk, online, phone and table tablets, multi-printer kitchen setups, expediter screens and kitchen displays, plus Uber Eats, DoorDash, Deliveroo, Hungry Panda and OpenTable.

A kiosk changes the EFTPOS question, so do not skip this bit. The terminal has to take a card with nobody standing behind it, and the integration has to cope with a customer walking off mid-transaction. Ask both Taptouch and your bank which specific terminal models they have actually deployed on kiosks in the field — not merely certified — and what the failure behaviour is when a payment times out with a half-built order on screen.
