Taptouch Retail is a point-of-sale system for books, fashion and apparel, general retail and gifts and homeware, and 2 more, built by Ivida Smart Technologies. The shop build of a dual-screen Android terminal made by a digital-signage company.
Certified on Linkly and on Tyro. Worth knowing the difference: Tyro is its own acquirer, so that route means banking with Tyro. The Linkly route does not.
Tyro rates it a Plus partner.
The Linkly integration runs in the cloud.
Taptouch Retail is Ivida Smart Technologies' retail configuration of the same dual 15.6-inch panel Android POS that runs its hospitality product. Ivida is a smart-retail hardware business first: digital signage, electronic shelf labels, in-store traffic analysis cameras, and the POS. CEO Scott Zhang came out of chip manufacturing.
For a shop, the interesting part is that one vendor can supply the till, the shelf-edge labels, the signage and the foot-traffic cameras. Electronic shelf labels are the bit worth asking hard questions about — they are genuinely useful if you change prices often and genuinely a waste if you do not.
Same caution as the hospitality build: this is one platform in two configurations from one company, so do not line the two up as competing quotes.
Ivida Smart Technologies also has Taptouch, Taptouch Beauty, Taptouch Hospitality and Taptouch Kiosk.
