Phoenix — practice software and bank compatibility

Practice management software by Kestral Computing · All point-of-sale systems

  • health

Phoenix is practice-management software for health, built by Kestral Computing. Kestral's other clinical system — same Melbourne company, same Constellation Software ownership since 2012.

Certified on Linkly, running on premise. Linkly reaches more acquirers than any other middleware in the market, which is why most POS start there.

The Linkly integration runs on premise.

Phoenix comes from Kestral Computing, a Melbourne clinical software house based at Heidelberg that has been at this for more than twenty years. Kestral builds two kinds of system — radiology information systems and pathology laboratory systems — and sells into Australia, New Zealand and parts of Asia. Its own line is that everything is designed, developed, tested, marketed and supported in Australia.

The ownership is what most practices miss. Constellation Software completed its purchase of Kestral on 4 April 2012 through Gary Jonas Computing, better known as Jonas Software. Constellation buys vertical software businesses and runs them under their existing names, which is why the badge never changed and why nobody at the practice got a letter about it.

This is practice management, not a till, so the comparison that matters is the claiming path rather than the terminal. Before you pick hardware for a clinical front desk, get the vendor to walk you through Medicare Easyclaim and HealthPoint end to end on the actual version you will run — that is where these integrations either work or quietly do not.

Kestral Computing also has Karisma.
