Counter Intelligence - Serve is a point-of-sale system for books, fashion and apparel, general retail and gifts and homeware, and 3 more, built by Kudos Solutions. New Zealand software with a single Australian dealer, and that dealer is in Prahran.

Certified on Linkly and on Tyro. Worth knowing the difference: Tyro is its own acquirer, so that route means banking with Tyro. The Linkly route does not.

Counter Intelligence is a retail POS and stock management platform from Kudos Solutions, based at Piermark Drive in Albany, north Auckland; Serve is the hospitality-leaning configuration of it. Kudos also lists an Australian office in Parramatta, but describes itself plainly as a leading NZ company, and the product is pitched at everything from a single store to a chain.

The commercially important bit is the channel. Kudos's own Australian dealer page lists exactly one reseller — RetailCare in Prahran, Victoria — servicing all states from one location. One dealer for a continent is a genuine support question rather than a nitpick: establish who attends a site in Perth on a Saturday night, and what the response commitment is in writing.

On payments, the New Zealand build integrates to EFTPOS New Zealand, Windcave and Smartpay, which are different rails to the Australian ones. Confirm which middleware your install is actually certified against before you assume a particular bank will work.
