LS Central POS — bank compatibility

LS Central is a point-of-sale system for retail, built by LS Retail. The Dynamics 365 Business Central build — your ERP and your till in the one database.

Certified on mx51 and on Tyro. Worth knowing the difference: Tyro is its own acquirer, so that route means banking with Tyro. The mx51 route does not.

It handles split bills.

The mx51 integration uses Spice and was last certified in July 2024, on Windows.

LS Central is the current flagship from LS Retail of Reykjavik, and the distinction from a generic LS Retail listing matters. Central is the unified build: it comes bundled with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, or connects to an existing enterprise ERP through CentralConnect. Point of sale, store operations, inventory, self-checkout, reporting and financials run in one system rather than a till talking to an ERP across an interface that someone has to maintain.

It is aimed at chains, not corner shops. LS Retail pitches it at stores with 10 to 250-plus software users and at retail chains operating across multiple cities and countries, covering fashion, electronics, furniture, grocery, pharmacy, duty free, pet, jewellery, bookshops, DIY and sporting goods, plus restaurants, hotels and forecourt.

On ownership: Aptos completed its acquisition of LS Retail on 16 February 2021 and runs it as a standalone business unit, and Aptos itself is a Goldman Sachs Merchant Banking portfolio company. The software reaches more than 80,000 customer sites in over 140 countries entirely through channel partners — so in Australia you are buying from a Dynamics implementation partner, and their local references matter far more than LS Retail's global ones.
