LS Pay is a point-of-sale system for retail, built by LS Retail. Icelandic, about 300 staff, 80,000-plus customer sites — and it changed hands again in December 2025.
Certified on Linkly, running in the cloud. Linkly reaches more acquirers than any other middleware in the market, which is why most POS start there.
The Linkly integration runs in the cloud.
LS Retail is based in Iceland with around 300 employees and offices across Asia, Europe, the Middle East and North America. Its flagship is LS Central, a modular platform with point-of-sale functionality and separate versions for retail, restaurants, hotels, pharmacies and forecourts. LS Pay is the payment-processing piece of that, offered for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and for LS Central — so what is certified here is a payment layer, not a till in its own right.
Ownership has moved twice in five years. Aptos, the Atlanta retail-technology firm, completed its acquisition of LS Retail on 16 February 2021, having announced it that January; Aptos is itself owned by funds managed by Private Equity at Goldman Sachs Alternatives. Then on 9 December 2025, Axcel Management A/S signed a definitive agreement to acquire LS Retail from Aptos.
Scale is genuinely large. LS Retail's solutions reach more than 80,000 customer sites in over 140 countries, sold through channel partners rather than direct. If you run LS Central in Australia, your software vendor is in Reykjavík, your implementer is local, and your ultimate owner is now a Danish private equity house. Worth knowing which of those three you actually have a contract with.
LS Retail also has LS Central.
