EE POS — bank compatibility

EE POS is a point-of-sale system for retail, built by Magenta Retail. Magenta brands it EEPOS, and it is the current generation — which matters, because the older Enabler product is the one they are migrating people off.

Certified on mx51, which is the engine behind several banks’ own terminal offerings rather than something a merchant buys by name.

It handles cash out.

The mx51 integration uses SPI .NET and was last certified in September 2024, on Windows.

EE POS is Magenta Retail's current desktop point of sale, which the company itself spells EEPOS. It sits on top of what Magenta calls the EEE retail platform, the central data layer their multi-store customers run on, with an Android mobile POS alongside it for selling on the shop floor rather than at the counter.

The useful context here is generational. Magenta's earlier POS product was called Enabler, and the company publishes a clear transition path from Enabler onto EEPOS. If you are being quoted, confirm which of the two you are actually getting, because EEPOS is the one with the development behind it. A quote that says only "Magenta POS" is not specific enough to sign.

Magenta is explicit that it suits mid-size and larger retailers, and the feature list backs that up: landed cost calculation, import and container shipment management, foreign currency, store allocation and replenishment, demand ordering, cross-docking, SSCC scan receiving and inter-store transfers. They serve Australia and New Zealand, with support numbers in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch, and they design the platform to sit beside your ledger and forecasting tools rather than replace them.

Magenta Retail also has Enabler, Enabler POS and Magenta Retail.
