Momentum Pro is a point-of-sale system for retail, built by Markinson Business Solutions. Markinson's wholesale ERP, since renamed MoPro — and the company has belonged to Constellation Software since 2011.
Certified on Linkly, running on premise. Linkly reaches more acquirers than any other middleware in the market, which is why most POS start there.
The Linkly integration runs on premise.
Markinson Business Solutions was founded in 1986 and runs out of Eight Mile Plains in Brisbane's south. It has supported wholesale and distribution businesses for over 35 years, with customers across Australia, New Zealand and the wider Asia-Pacific, in verticals including automotive, electronics and capital equipment. Constellation Software acquired it on 14 December 2011, and the company's own site now carries the line "A Vela Software Group Company" — Vela being one of Constellation's operating groups.
Momentum Pro has since been rebadged MoPro ERP: same system, new name, covering inventory, sales, purchasing and financial operations. Around it sit MoPro ERP Plus, a web interface that replaced the old Front Office module, plus MoPro eCom, MoPro Mobility, MoPro Intelligence and ServicePro. It is a distribution ERP with a counter sale in it, not a retail till.
That shapes the payment decision. The card transactions tend to come off a trade counter or a workshop rather than a shopfront queue, so throughput matters less than getting the sale onto the right account and job. Ask how the terminal behaves on an account customer who part-pays, because that is the case that breaks generic integrations.
Markinson Business Solutions also has Shopkeeper.
