Microsoft Dynamics NAV is a point-of-sale system for retail, built by Microchannel Services. Microsoft retired this product line years ago, and the Australian firm that implements it was itself bought by Fujifilm in 2023.
Certified on Linkly, running on premise. Linkly reaches more acquirers than any other middleware in the market, which is why most POS start there.
The Linkly integration runs on premise.
Dynamics NAV is the old Microsoft mid-market ERP — the product that became Dynamics 365 Business Central. Plenty of Australian retailers and wholesalers are still running NAV installs with a POS layer on top, and the company in this record is the implementer rather than the software author: MicroChannel, with a heritage dating to 1995, specialising in Microsoft business applications across ERP, CRM, retail, warehousing, marketing automation, field service and business intelligence.
MicroChannel Services was acquired by FUJIFILM Business Innovation at the start of 2023 and began trading as FUJIFILM MicroChannel on 1 March that year. The deal was reported at around $100 million, brought more than 200 professionals into the region, and followed roughly $60 million of annual revenue at MicroChannel. In October 2024 the combined business bought DXC Technology's Oceania small and medium business practices across Australia, New Zealand and Fiji — six solution lines including Dynamics 365 Business Central and SAP Business One, terms undisclosed. Fujifilm Business Innovation is chasing $4 billion in revenue by 2027 and has said it will keep buying locally.
Head office is Brisbane, with operations in New Zealand, Fiji, Singapore, Sri Lanka and Thailand, and headcount in the 51 to 500 band. The firm now specialises in Dynamics 365 Business Central, which is the natural migration target off NAV. For EFTPOS the honest answer is that a legacy NAV retail deployment is a version-specific question: the integration is certified against a particular build and a particular POS add-on, not against "Dynamics NAV" generally. Get that confirmed in writing before you commit, and ask at the same time what the Business Central migration would do to it.
Microchannel Services also has Microsoft Dynamics AX for Retail and Retail Tools RMS POS PC-EFT.
