Express is a point-of-sale system for education and retail, built by Monitor Business Machines. Not a shop till — it comes from the campus and library world, where one card does printing, laundry and lunch.

Monitor BM builds transaction management software and hardware for libraries, schools, higher education, healthcare and corporate and government sites. The range tells you what it actually is: print management (web print, kiosk USB printing, MFD embedded, print-room job submission), room and asset reservations, POS, online ordering and e-commerce, event ticketing, cashless payments on ID cards and tags, after-hours access control, laundry, vending, meal ID and people counting, plus the card readers and its MU2 mobile device.

Named customers span three countries — Kristin School and Auckland Libraries in New Zealand, Vancouver Community College in Canada, and City of Parramatta Libraries in Australia, which was the first site to deploy the MU2. That spread is the pitch: one account balance that works at the printer, the washing machine, the vending machine and the canteen counter, with top-ups rather than cash.

That is also why the EFTPOS question is unusual here. In a cashless campus the card payment usually happens when a student or borrower loads value, not when they buy a coffee, so the integration that matters is the one behind the top-up kiosk or counter. Confirm which point the Linkly integration actually sits behind before assuming your acquirer is reachable at every terminal on site.
