Wasteman 2G WRU is a point-of-sale system for professional services, built by Newcastle Weighing Services. The gatehouse terminal at the tip, from a Newcastle company that has been making the weighbridges underneath it since 1976.

Certified on Linkly, running on premise. Linkly reaches more acquirers than any other middleware in the market, which is why most POS start there.

The Linkly integration runs on premise.

A Waste Receival Unit is the terminal at the entrance to a landfill or transfer station — the thing that takes the load details and the payment while the truck or trailer sits on the weighbridge. The vendor is Newcastle Weighing Services, which has manufactured weighbridges and weighbridge equipment since 1976 out of Mayfield West in Newcastle, and says it has supplied and installed hundreds of weighbridge management systems for councils and businesses across Australia.

The software side of that stack is ClearWeigh, now in its third generation, which handles waste movement reporting, cash drawer reconciliation, audits and environment protection authority reporting, works across single and multi-site operations, replicates to consolidated administration databases, and connects to any weighbridge make or model. The receival unit is the front end of that: the point where a member of the public tipping a ute-load of green waste, or a contractor dropping mixed construction waste, gets priced and charged.

This is why it is not a retail till in any useful sense. The amount is not on a barcode, it is calculated from weight and waste category at the moment of the transaction, and it has to carry a compliance trail. For EFTPOS, the questions worth asking are how the terminal is physically mounted and powered in an outdoor gatehouse, whether it keeps working when the site loses connectivity, and how the payment reconciles against the weighed ticket.

Newcastle Weighing Services also has ClearWeigh and WSN Waste Receival Unit.
