Optemizer is a point-of-sale system for retail, built by Pacsoft Australia. the back office behind hardware and building supply counters, now owned out of Fort Worth, Texas.
Certified on Linkly, running on premise. Linkly reaches more acquirers than any other middleware in the market, which is why most POS start there.
The Linkly integration runs on premise.
Optemizer is Pacsoft's inventory and accounting suite — the back office that iOptPOS sits on the front of. Multi-branch inventory, quoting, customer orders, receivables, with mobile apps (iOpt, iOptView, iOptPricer, iReports) that pull sales, cash draw, receivables and stop-credit accounts onto a phone. The market is hardware retail and building suppliers. Despite how the product names read, there is no optical or optometry angle to any of it.
ECI Software Solutions of Fort Worth, Texas acquired Pacsoft on 1 July 2019, terms undisclosed, and put it into its LBM and Hardlines division under John Maiuri — a division already serving nearly 4,000 businesses. ECI said at the time that Pacsoft had been at this for more than three decades, with more than 500 organisations on it worldwide and real presence in Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands. Andrew Darbyshire AM was the executive chairman and CTO going in.
For a merchant the practical question is support and roadmap: an independent Australasian vendor with 500 sites behaves differently from a product line inside a US group with thousands. Pacsoft's founding year, founder and named customers are not published anywhere we could find, and the corporate entity shows up in US records as Westbrook, Maine.
Pacsoft Australia also has iOptPOS.
