PixelPoint is a point-of-sale system for hospitality, built by Partech. A Canadian product owned by PAR Technology — the NYSE-listed group that bought Australia's TASK Group in 2024.

Certified on Linkly, running on premise. Linkly reaches more acquirers than any other middleware in the market, which is why most POS start there.

The Linkly integration runs on premise.

PixelPoint came out of Vaughan, Ontario, co-founded and run by Lino D'Angicco. PAR Technology announced it was buying the company on 28 August 2005, expecting to close that quarter, and PAR's then chairman and chief executive John Sammon said plainly that it gave PAR "access to hospitality markets and geographical areas PAR has not yet penetrated". PAR was at about 40,000 restaurant locations at the time, and PixelPoint's senior management stayed on to run it.

Two decades on, PAR is the part worth knowing about. It now runs more than 700 restaurant chains across 70,000-plus locations in quick service, fast casual and full service, and most of its product line arrived by acquisition — Brink, Punchh, and in 2024 the Australian-founded TASK Group for US$206 million alongside Stuzo for US$190 million. TASK, founded in 2000, operates in 70 countries with Australia as its biggest market and sits behind Starbucks, Guzman y Gomez and McDonald's across 65 markets.

So PAR now owns two tills that can pitch the same Australian venue. PixelPoint is the older, on-premise one; TASK is the one with the local install base. If you are being quoted either, it is the same ultimate vendor, and that is worth saying out loud before you treat them as competing bids.

Partech also has Infusion Software Suite vIT.3:.
