EzeReceipts is a point-of-sale system for retail, built by Platypus Software. Part of the "EZe" family from a Brisbane software house going since 1982 — and its real home is gyms and leisure centres, not shops.

Platypus Software Pty Ltd is an Australian-owned company that says it started operating in 1982. It is contactable on an 07 Brisbane number and listed at a PO Box in Kenmore, Queensland. The product range carries the "EZe" brand — "Software made EZe" — and the company names its markets as service-based organisations, health and fitness, and retail. Australasian Leisure Management's supplier directory lists it under Access, Billing and Fitness, and it appears as an integrated software partner on Ezidebit's direct-debit platform.

That combination — access control, billing, fitness, direct debit — describes a membership business rather than a shop. A gym or council leisure centre needs recurring direct debits, door or turnstile access tied to membership status, casual entry sold over a counter, and a till for the kiosk, cafe and merchandise. EzeReceipts sits on the transaction end of that, which is also where the card terminal belongs.

If you run a leisure centre or gym, this is a long-standing local name with more than forty years behind it. If you came here looking for a general retail POS, look elsewhere. Either way, Platypus publishes very little, so expect to do your due diligence on the phone rather than on the web — and ask which acquirers the Linkly path reaches for your bank.
