Prompt-U-Pos — bank compatibility

Prompt-U-Pos is a point-of-sale system for retail, built by Protrace Solutions. Not a shop till — it is the sales end of a meat and food-processing system.

Certified on mx51, which is the engine behind several banks’ own terminal offerings rather than something a merchant buys by name.

The mx51 integration uses Spice and was last certified in July 2025, on Windows.

Protrace Solutions makes PromptU, which it describes as a computer-based solution for the food industry covering the whole chain from raw material purchasing, through factory operations, to the sale of finished goods. The modules are isCAN, inventory management, purchasing, sales, an on-floor iOCM touchscreen, a carcase intake touchscreen and a carcase grading touchscreen, plus labelling solutions.

Carcase intake and carcase grading tell you exactly who this is for: meat processors, packers, distributors and wholesalers of manufactured food products. The sales and touchscreen modules are the parts that reach a payment terminal — a trade counter at a processing plant, not a retail shopfront.

Protrace sells through resellers who handle installation, training and support, and says it has worked with customers globally on projects large and small.
