RMH Bridge (Retail Management Hero) — connecting Retail Management Hero to the terminal
Payment connector by Retail Realm · All point-of-sale systems
- retail
RMH Bridge (Retail Management Hero) is not a point-of-sale system — it is the payment connector that joins Retail Management Hero to the terminal, through mx51. Built by Retail Realm. Not a till — it is the module that joins Retail Management Hero to the payment terminal, and it carries the fullest feature set of the family.
Worth being clear about what this is, because the directories list it alongside the tills: you do not buy this instead of a point-of-sale system, you buy it to connect one you already have. If you are running Retail Management Hero, this is how it talks to the terminal.
Last certified March 2019 on mx51.
RMH Bridge is a payment connector, not a point of sale. The till is Retail Management Hero; the Bridge is the piece that sits between it and the EFTPOS terminal, over mx51 rather than Linkly. If you are shopping for a POS, this is not the product you are shopping for — it is what you will need alongside RMH once you have chosen it, and it is worth confirming whether a quote includes it.
Retail Realm is the company behind Retail Management Hero, and the reason it exists is worth knowing: Microsoft discontinued its Dynamics Retail Management System, and RMH was built as the next-generation replacement for all those stranded RMS retailers. RMH POS launched in 2016, RMH Central followed in 2019, and Retail Realm's chairman Afshin Alikhani ran the deal. It sells through distributors rather than direct — and in Australia and New Zealand the exclusive distributor since 1 September 2017 has been Advantage Solutions Distribution, trading as asdisti.com.au.
RMH itself is in thousands of specialty retail shops globally, sold through a distributor and reseller network, with RMH POS as the flagship plus RMH Central for multi-store management, RMH Store and RMH Loyalty. The Bridge's certified set is the most complete of anything Retail Realm has in the directory: integrated purchase, MOTO, receipts, refunds, POS settlement, POS settlement enquiry and terminal-based cash out. Cash out plus settlement from inside the POS is the combination a busy specialty store actually wants.
Advantage is the party you would actually deal with here. Founded in 1990 to serve small-to-medium retail, it took on Microsoft's RMS in 2007, got RMH-certified in early 2017, sits on the RMH advisory board for the region and converted its own RMS iPOS product into RMH iPOS. It handles local order processing, support and training, receipt and report localisation, MYOB and Xero integration, and custom development. Its customers run from single stores to enterprises with 100-plus stores, some of those relationships going back to the 1990s.
