Revolution Software Services is a Sydney software development and implementation company, and what it makes is a dealer management system — the platform a car, motorcycle or marine dealership runs its accounting, sales, service, parts and CRM on. The flagship product is TUNE, and the current site sells SHOWROOMnext and eSign alongside it. The retail category on this record is technically true and practically misleading: nobody is buying this for a shop counter.
Toyota Australia announced its acquisition of the business on 7 April 2020. Terms were not disclosed; Prime Financial Group brokered the deal. Revolution had been a Toyota supplier already, providing Toyota's own dealer management system since 2008, and Toyota expected more than 200 Toyota and Lexus dealers on the platform by the end of 2023. Co-founder and CEO Anthony Nadalini stayed on and called it a stand-alone company within the Toyota group.
The useful takeaway for anyone comparing automotive systems: the vendor is now owned by a manufacturer whose dealers are its largest customer base. That is a different set of incentives from an independent software company. No founding year is published, and the company's site carries no location or customer figures.
Revolution Software Services also has Revolution.
