SalesPoint is a point-of-sale system for general retail and services. A Christchurch business, trading since 2010 as Holwood Technologies.

It is certified on all three middleware layers that matter here — Linkly, mx51 and Tyro. Eighteen of the 1,127 systems on this site manage that, which leaves your choice of bank about as open as it gets.

The integration covers cash out.

The Linkly integration runs as mobile POS or on premise. Linkly holds 2 separate certified builds for it, so what works depends which one you are on. The mx51 integration uses Spice and was last certified in August 2023, on Windows.

SalesPoint is operated by Holwood Technologies Ltd, established in 2010 and based at Sir William Pickering Drive in Christchurch. It is a New Zealand product and the install footprint reflects that — they offer on-site installation in Christchurch, which is a small-vendor tell worth noticing before you buy it into an Australian site.

What they sell is the whole package rather than software alone: POS software for retail and hospitality, Android all-in-ones, touch screens and tablets, plus the peripherals — EFTPOS terminals, receipt printers, cash drawers, barcode scanners. Pricing comes three ways: software subscription with a free trial, hardware bought outright through their shop, or a lease on the lot. Grocery, hospitality, mobile traders and barber shops are the verticals they name. The lease option is the one to read carefully, because a POS lease and a terminal lease signed together are very hard to unpick later.

The lease detail is better than most: a 12-month minimum with no multi-year lock-in, on bundles like a 15-inch all-in-one with a retail or hospitality add-on pack. Software licensing is charged separately and leases are only offered to existing customers. Still read it beside your terminal contract, because a POS lease and a terminal lease signed in the same week are very hard to unpick later.

SalesPoint also has Hospitality.

A POS reaches a bank through middleware. Each card below is one certified route; the banks it reaches are on the middleware page.
