addzme-POS is a point-of-sale system for hospitality and retail, built by Shift8. A loyalty network first and a till second — one app where a customer collects rewards from every participating shop, not just yours.

Certified on mx51, which is the engine behind several banks’ own terminal offerings rather than something a merchant buys by name.

The mx51 integration uses SPI iOS and was last certified in December 2023, on iOS.

addzme is a Shift8 product, launched in Australia in 2023. The idea that separates it from a normal POS loyalty module: customers use one addzme app to earn rewards across every participating business, so a café, a hairdresser and a plumber share a loyalty network instead of each running an isolated points scheme nobody signs up to. Shift8's CEO Amy Renae, who has been with the company over a decade, pitched it as levelling the playing field so small businesses can run the kind of loyalty program the chains have had for years.

Shift8 Pty Ltd itself sits in Haymarket, Sydney, and its core business is the opposite end of the market — point of sale and loyalty for multi-site franchise food brands and high-volume quick service restaurants, with head office control of menus, pricing, loyalty and reporting across every store. Those products carry S8 branding: S8pos for iPad and Windows, S8mc for management, S8mini for live sales, plus kiosks on Android and iPad, online ordering and Shift8 Payments.

So you are buying small-business software from a company whose main customers are franchise groups, and that cuts both ways. The underlying platform is more robust than the price suggests, and there is a 30-day trial plus a standalone Loyalty Scanner app if you want to test the loyalty side without replacing your till at all. Just be clear in writing which product you are signing for, because the addzme and S8 lines are quite different animals with different support expectations.

Shift8 also has addzup and S8POS.
