ConnectPOS — bank compatibility

ConnectPOS is a point-of-sale system for hospitality and retail, built by SmartOSC. A Vietnamese e-commerce agency's till, built to hang off Shopify, Magento or BigCommerce rather than stand on its own.

Certified on mx51, which is the engine behind several banks’ own terminal offerings rather than something a merchant buys by name.

The mx51 integration uses Spice and was last certified in December 2024, on Windows.

ConnectPOS is made by SmartOSC, established in 2006 — a full-service e-commerce agency with more than 1,000 staff across Vietnam, Singapore, Japan, the USA, Australia, the UK, Thailand, Korea and Indonesia, with offices in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang and Tokyo. Its platform work is Adobe Commerce (Magento), Shopify Plus, BigCommerce, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, Sitecore, Kentico and Optimizely, and ConnectPOS is the in-store layer for those builds.

That origin shapes the product. There are dedicated ConnectPOS versions for Magento, Shopify, BigCommerce, WooCommerce, NetSuite and Commercetools, and the sell is one catalogue, one stock pool and one customer record across web and counter. Named customers on its own site are international rather than Australian — KidZania, Yeti Cycles, Indiana University.

The reviews are thin and split: 3.3 out of 5 from three reviews on Capterra Australia, with support responsiveness the best-scored dimension at 3.7 and ease of use the worst at 3.0. One reviewer liked that it runs on a PC — "Finally a cash register that works on a PC COMPUTER and not a tablet" — while another said the deployment never worked. Three reviews is not a sample. Treat this as an e-commerce integration project with a till on the end rather than an off-the-shelf POS, and ask for an Australian reference site you can ring.
