Retailer - Kiosk — bank compatibility

Self-service kiosk by Tower Systems International (Aust) · All point-of-sale systems

Retailer - Kiosk is a self-service kiosk for retail, built by Tower Systems International (Aust). The self-serve lane from a Hawthorn software house that sells to newsagents and jewellers — and that Constellation Software bought in late 2024.

Certified on Linkly and on Tyro. Worth knowing the difference: Tyro is its own acquirer, so that route means banking with Tyro. The Linkly route does not.

Tyro rates it a Premium partner — their top tier.

The Linkly integration runs in the cloud.

Tower Systems is a vertical-market software company out of Hawthorn in Melbourne, founded by Mark Fletcher after he worked as a programmer in retail. It builds for independent specialty shops and nothing else: newsagents, bookshops, garden centres, jewellers, bike shops, pet shops, toy shops, fishing and produce stores, charity and gift shops. Not chains.

In November 2024 the business was acquired by Vela APX, a division of Constellation Software (TSX: CSU) — the Canadian acquirer that buys vertical software companies and holds them. Most Tower customers would not know that, and it is the kind of thing worth knowing before you sign a multi-year agreement.

This record is the kiosk, not the counter till. Same software family, but it is the unattended checkout lane, which means the payment integration matters more than usual — there is nobody standing there to fix a declined transaction.

Tower Systems International (Aust) also has Retailer, Retailer (On-premises only), Retailer Roam and Tower Systems International v2.7.3.2 (Cloud).
