Elite POS is a point-of-sale system for retail, built by W W Wedderburn. Weighing since 1896, and this till is legally approved to price by weight — which is the whole reason a butcher buys it.

Certified on Linkly, running on premise. Linkly reaches more acquirers than any other middleware in the market, which is why most POS start there.

The Linkly integration runs on premise.

W W Wedderburn Pty Ltd, of 101 Williamson Road, Ingleburn NSW, traces back to London, where Jabez William Wedderburn worked in his family's scalemaking business. The company dates itself to 1896 and is marking 130 years in trade. It is still family-owned, with 19 branches in Australia and 10 in New Zealand, and weighing is the core identity — scales, labels and labelling equipment, packaging gear, food equipment, service and repairs, with POS alongside rather than instead.

Elite POS is pattern-approved by the National Measurement Institute under certificate S575, first approved on 22 August 2012. In plain terms that means it is legal for trade use where the price depends on weight: it reads the measurement off an approved instrument, computes price through a product look-up, can apply a preset tare up to the instrument's capacity, and flags manually keyed weights on the printed docket. The approved build runs Elite POS W&M 1.0x on a Wedderburn PS6509 or equivalent Windows PC, with an LD240 two-line customer display, a TM200 transaction printer and an A-200TT label printer, and the Teraoka Digi DS-866 named as a compatible scale. Wedderburn's current POS branding is Atria.

That approval is not a nice-to-have. If you sell meat, seafood, deli, or fruit and veg by weight, your till is a measuring instrument in the eyes of a trade-measurement inspector, and a generic cloud POS wired to a scale is not the same thing. It is also why the fresh-food end of retail tends to buy from scale companies rather than from software companies.

W W Wedderburn also has Atria POS.
