2DFire is a point-of-sale system for accommodation, bars and pubs, cafes and hospitality, and 2 more. Hangzhou, 600,000 merchants and its own office tower — probably the biggest POS company you have never heard of.
Certified on mx51 and on Tyro. Worth knowing the difference: Tyro is its own acquirer, so that route means banking with Tyro. The mx51 route does not.
Certified for tipping, phone and mail order and surcharging. Tyro rates it a Plus partner.
The mx51 integration uses SPI Java and was last certified in August 2020, on Android.
2DFire — 二维火 in Chinese — is a restaurant SaaS company out of Hangzhou, founded in 2005, operating from a building it calls the 2DFire Technology Building on Jiaogong Road. It describes itself as a leading domestic restaurant SaaS provider in China and claims more than 600,000 merchants on the platform. For scale, that is larger than every Australian POS vendor put together, several times over.
The platform is POS plus QR ordering, membership marketing, AI reporting, reservations, mini-program takeaway, online store, kitchen display, supply chain and multi-site group management, with integrations into Douyin, Meituan and Taobao. Tyro's partner listing puts the global footprint at over 400,000 restaurants and names expansion into Thailand, South Korea, Japan, North America, Luxembourg and Australia.
Here, it is a small presence certified against Australian payment rails, aimed at accommodation, bars and pubs, cafes and quick service. The questions are the ones you would ask of any offshore giant landing locally: who supports it in your time zone, who is on the ground, and what happens to a China-built roadmap when an Australian requirement conflicts with it.
