Amicus v6.xx & is a point-of-sale system for hospitality, built by Neotechnology Business Systems. A multi-site Australian system with fifteen-plus years of continuous development behind it, from about $90 a month.

Certified on Linkly, running on premise. Linkly reaches more acquirers than any other middleware in the market, which is why most POS start there.

The Linkly integration runs on premise.

Amicus is a point of sale and management system aimed at medium to enterprise businesses running single or multiple sites, developed and supported by Australian-based teams with 24/7 phone, email and remote support. It runs on Windows against a Microsoft SQL Server back end, so it keeps trading when the internet drops, and it ships with an automatic backup system. Pricing starts from as little as $90 a month. One thing to be aware of: the vendor is listed variously as Neotechnology and Innitglobal, and no public source reconciles the two names.

The customer list is broader than the hospitality tag suggests — Ya-Ya Restaurant and the Simmone Logue kitchens in Sydney, Village Deli at Bongaree in Queensland, We Know Pets across multiple stores, Sandy Bay Living in Tasmania, and the carwash at Revesby Workers' Club. Also named on its site: Naked Foods, Au Bon Marche, Tyndale, That Office Place, Team Flex and the Cancer Council.

What customers actually praise is the multi-site reporting rather than the till itself. Jeremy Maitland of We Know Pets describes "ordering stock for all locations from one place, even reversing sales made at other locations". Simmone Logue's team said setup took under a day where the old system "took a really long time", and singled out being able to change prices across a large number of products. There are no independent star ratings anywhere — every quote in circulation is on the vendor's own page.
