AMWIN POS — bank compatibility

AMWIN POS is a point-of-sale system for auto mechanics, automotive, retail and services, built by AM-Win Software. Sydney, 1986, and it claims to be the first software written for automotive repair workshops.

Certified on Linkly and on Tyro. Worth knowing the difference: Tyro is its own acquirer, so that route means banking with Tyro. The Linkly route does not.

Certified to do split bills and cash out. Tyro rates it a Power Up partner.

The Linkly integration runs on premise.

AM-Win Software has been going since 1986 out of Sydney, and reckons it was the first company to build software specifically for automotive repair workshops. It has over 3,000 users across Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Rim.

What it actually is: job management, quoting, invoicing and full accounting in one package, with inventory, mobile apps and staff productivity tracking. The counter sale is one part of a job-based business workflow — the vehicle comes in, the job gets quoted and worked, parts get picked, and the payment lands at the end. Automotive repair, 4WD, motorcycle, mower and aircraft maintenance are the verticals, plus equipment sales and hire.

The industry list is wider than just cars: four wheel drive, automotive workshop, aircraft, marine, motorcycle, agricultural and mining machinery, power equipment and mower, and truck and bus maintenance. Which tells you the real design brief — any business where a machine comes in, gets worked on, and leaves with an invoice. So if you are a workshop, the till is not the thing you are buying, the job card is. Judge it on quoting and parts flow, and treat the payment integration as a hygiene check rather than the decision.
