AP21 Retail POS — bank compatibility

AP21 Retail POS is a point-of-sale system for fashion and apparel and retail. The fashion industry's back office, with a till on the end — and another Constellation Software company, which surprises people.
Tyro only. Tyro is its own middleware and its own acquirer, so this one comes with the bank attached — moving bank means a new integration.
It handles cash out. Tyro rates it a Power Up partner.
Apparel21 has been building software for fashion and apparel businesses for three decades or more — its own site says 33 years in one place and over 40 in another — and AP21 is the platform. It is not really a POS product. It runs product planning and development, supply chain, inventory, wholesale, retail and financials, with the retail POS as the shopfront end of a system that was designed around the wholesale and production side first. Separate modules cover ecommerce, sales reps and analytics. It holds ISO 27001 certification and claims 97% client retention.
The ownership is the part most AP21 retailers have never checked. Apparel21 is part of Vela Software Group, operating as Vela APX, and Vela is a division of Constellation Software — the Toronto-listed acquirer that also owns Jonas, and therefore Jim2. Two unrelated-looking vendors in this directory ultimately report to the same Canadian parent.
Who it suits: a brand or a vertically integrated retailer that designs, wholesales and retails the same product and is tired of three systems disagreeing about stock. Tyro certifies it at Power Up tier and tags it for fashion and apparel, which is accurate — this is not a general retail till.
