Adilam Technologies works out of Bayswater North in Melbourne and does library RFID: tags, smart shelves, lockers, returns chutes, access control and self-service. It claims over twenty years at it and sells into Australia, Singapore, the USA, New Zealand and Brunei. Arcus is its cloud RFID platform for libraries, marketed as the world's first of its kind, and Arcus Self-Service is the self-loan station — the kiosk a borrower checks their own books out at.

Which makes the product type on this record worth flagging: this is a self-service kiosk, not a point of sale. The payment side exists because libraries take money for fines, printing and the like, but nobody is ringing up a basket of goods on it. A nice detail on how the company works: at Wimmera Libraries in Victoria it retrofitted an end-of-life FE self-loan station to run Arcus Self-Service, keeping the original cabinet rather than replacing the hardware — which tells you something about the sort of budget-constrained buyer it sells to.

What is not published: a founding year, a founder, any ownership, customer counts or named council customers beyond the Wimmera case study. WALGA lists Adilam as an RFID implementation partner for libraries, which is the closest thing to third-party confirmation of the niche. And the kiosk page itself does not state whether it takes card payment — the EFTPOS accreditation implies it, but no page we read says so.
