ArmPOS is a point-of-sale system for bars and pubs, butchers and grocers, cafes and general retail, and 4 more, built by Aclas. One of very few tills in Australia with its own trade-measurement approval, which is the whole point if you sell by weight.

Certified on Linkly and on Tyro. Worth knowing the difference: Tyro is its own acquirer, so that route means banking with Tyro. The Linkly route does not.

The integration covers split bills. Tyro rates it a Plus partner.

The Linkly integration runs on premise.

ArmPOS is the software layer on Aclas hardware. Aclas Pty Ltd, out of Bowen Hills in Brisbane, is the exclusive Australian distributor for Pinnacle Technology Corp — a Taipei company established in 1982 that makes fiscal cash registers, POS systems, electronic scales, receipt printers and barcode scanners from a 40,000 square metre plant in Xiamen. Pinnacle turns out more than a million units a year, exports to over 100 countries, holds 22-plus patents, and says it is the largest fiscal electronic cash register exporter in China.

Now the part that actually decides a shortlist. The National Measurement Institute holds certificate of approval S646 for the Aclas model ArmPOS point of sale system, interfacing with compatible NMI-approved weighing instruments. In plain terms, this till is legally cleared for trade use when you sell goods by weight in Australia. Most POS products are not. If you run a butcher, a deli, a fruit shop or a grocer, that certificate is the first question, not the last — ask every competing vendor for their NMI approval number and see what comes back.

The feature set behind it is a mix of retail and hospitality: customisable menus, multiple payment methods, table mapping, coursing, employee time clock and order history. Tyro has it on the Plus tier covering hospitality and retail.
