Arpos is a point-of-sale system for retail, built by HPS Pharmacies. The vendor behind it isn't a software house at all — it's Australia's largest outsourced hospital pharmacy operator, now owned by a listed health giant.

HPS Pharmacies is the vendor on this record, and it is not a POS company. It is Australia's largest provider of outsourced pharmacy services to hospitals. Blue Sky Private Equity, alongside Partners Group, took a major stake around 2015 and roughly doubled the earnings before selling out. EBOS Group picked it up in May 2017 for A$154 million, fully debt financed, with the deal expected to complete by 30 June that year. At the time HPS ran more than 100 sites with over 580 staff, including more than 200 pharmacists, and over 40 years of experience behind it.

The thing to understand is what kind of counter this is. HPS doesn't run retail chemists — it runs dispensaries inside hospitals, correctional facilities, oncology centres and fertility clinics, and it services the majority of Healthscope's 38 hospitals nationally. So the terminal sits in a hospital dispensary taking discharge medication payments, not in a shopfront. Worth saying plainly: we found nothing published about the Arpos software itself. Everything above is about the organisation that owns it, which is the part that actually tells you what you are dealing with.
