AutoMed Kiosk — bank compatibility

AutoMed Kiosk is a self-service kiosk for health and primary health. A GP check-in kiosk rather than a counter till — designed by an Australian GP, and the only claim type at the screen is patient-paid Easyclaim.
Tyro only. Tyro is its own middleware and its own acquirer, so this one comes with the bank attached — moving bank means a new integration.
It handles Medicare Easyclaim. Tyro rates it a Power Up partner.
AutoMed Systems Pty Ltd builds the self-service check-in kiosk that sits in a lot of Australian general practice waiting rooms. The company says the system was designed by an Australian GP for Australian conditions and that the platform is globally patented. It won a Good Design Award in 2017 in the Digital Apps and Software category, with the interface developed alongside Melbourne design studio Local Peoples — which is unusual in medical software, where the design budget normally goes nowhere near the patient-facing screen.
The kiosk is one component of a wider reception stack: online bookings, an AMS Connect mobile app, caller ID that pops the patient record while the phone is still ringing, SMS reminders, digital forms, repeat scripts and referrals, telehealth, a patient queue display, a debtors book and a MyMedicare administration tool. Clinics quoted on AutoMed's own site include Pasadena Medical, Woodcroft, Burwood Health Care, Grand Medical Centre and McKinnon and Sandy Hill. Burwood reports weekly did-not-attends down 35 per cent after adding SMS reminders, and Grand Medical a 95 per cent recall response rate. Both are vendor-supplied figures, so weigh them accordingly.
One thing to settle before you buy: the only claiming the Tyro Health listing shows at the kiosk is Medicare Easyclaim – Patient Paid. Bulk billing and private health claims happen in your practice management software, not on the kiosk screen, so the kiosk takes the gap payment and the claim goes through elsewhere.
Health claiming at the terminal
Certified through Tyro for Medicare Easyclaim — patient paid. Tyro is its own acquirer, so claiming through the terminal means banking with Tyro.
Connected through
