Autosoft Turbo POS — bank compatibility

Point-of-sale system by Autosoft · All point-of-sale systems

Autosoft Turbo is a point-of-sale system for retail, built by Autosoft. Now trading as Workshop Software — the Autosoft name on this record is the one the company left behind.

Certified on Linkly, running on premise. Linkly reaches more acquirers than any other middleware in the market, which is why most POS start there.

The Linkly integration runs on premise.

It started in the early 1980s when John Bendall began writing software for his own spare parts store in Wollongong, and grew into a business systems supplier for parts and workshop operations, dealerships, service stations, dismantlers and engine reconditioners. It moved off DOS onto Windows, and has run out of Warriewood on Sydney's northern beaches since its Daydream Street office opened in October 2009, with sites around Australia and in Fiji, Papua New Guinea, the Solomon Islands and the United States. James Mitchell is managing director.

The rebrand is the thing to know before you sign a terminal to this. Workshop Software Pty Ltd operates from the same Warriewood address — Suite 2305, 4 Daydream St — and its own history page shows the Autosoft system captioned as the legacy workshop management system that preceded Workshop Software. Workshop Software claims 9,400-plus users globally, with contact numbers for Australia, New Zealand, the US, the UK and South Africa. So if you are buying today you are buying Workshop Software; if you are running Autosoft Turbo you are on the old product, and which one your integration is actually certified against is a fair question to ask.
