Barqix POS — bank compatibility

Barqix is a point-of-sale system for automotive and transport, hospitality, professional services and retail. Not a till at all — it's an autonomous weighbridge rig for waste, quarry and mining sites, and the directory listing it as point-of-sale is misleading.

Certified on both Linkly and mx51, which between them cover most of the acquiring market.

The Linkly integration runs in the cloud. The mx51 integration uses SCI and was last certified in May 2026, on Linux and Windows.

Barqix is an Australian-built industrial automation platform, not a retail POS. The company describes a hardware-led stack: its own driver kiosk, its own designed PCB controller, ANPR number-plate recognition, AI-assisted material classification and cloud transaction intelligence. The point of it is running a weighbridge with nobody in the hut — manned or unmanned stations, operated remotely.

Where that matters for payments: the transaction happens at a driver kiosk on a quarry gate, not at a counter. So the question isn't which bank your till reaches, it's whether the kiosk's card reader is certified to your acquirer. Barqix says it is currently onboarding pilot sites across waste, quarry and mining, which means this is early deployment rather than an installed base you can ring around and ask about. Treat anything you read about it as a young product.
