Beacon Software is a point-of-sale system for fuel and retail. Fuel and convenience specialists claiming sixty-odd years in the trade, now flying the Constellation Software flag.
Certified on Linkly, running on premise. Linkly reaches more acquirers than any other middleware in the market, which is why most POS start there.
The Linkly integration runs on premise.
Beacon Business Systems builds point of sale and back office for service stations and convenience stores, and it is upfront that this is the whole business rather than a vertical bolted onto a general retail product. The flagship Beacon product is built for fuel retailing; Beacon Auto Pro extends it into workshops, tyre and towbar businesses. The company claims over 60 years of combined experience and says its professional services team has done hundreds of site migrations.
It is sized for the independent end of the market — the site describes serving operators running anywhere from one or two sites up to fifty. Named customers in its own testimonials include Campbell Petroleum, Blazely Fuels, Pegasus Pitstop, Little Sam's Service Station and Boggabri Hardware & Rural Supplies. One operator running six service stations claims Beacon cut fraud by 90%, which is a self-reported figure but a telling thing to advertise: shrinkage and staff fraud are the quiet problem in fuel retail.
Beacon Business Systems is part of Vela APX, a wholly owned subsidiary of Constellation Software (TSX:CSU). Its closest Australian competitor in the same niche, Independent Solutions, is in the same portfolio. Support is in-house but business hours only, Monday to Friday, which is worth weighing if your sites trade late.
