Bp Allied — practice software and bank compatibility

Bp Allied is practice-management software for allied health and health. End of the road — Best Practice set its end of service at 31 July 2026, so buying a terminal around it now is buying into a dead platform.
Tyro only. Tyro is its own middleware and its own acquirer, so this one comes with the bank attached — moving bank means a new integration.
The integration covers split bills, HealthPoint private health claiming and multi-merchant. Tyro rates it a Premium partner — their top tier.
Bp Allied is allied health practice management software, and it is being retired. Best Practice Software published an end of service date of 31 July 2026, after which the product receives no updates, no improvements and no technical support. Their stated reason is blunt: the age of the platform limits their ability to meet modern clinical, security and regulatory expectations.
It was not originally theirs. The product was called myPractice before Best Practice Software acquired it in 2016, and it had supported allied health professionals for more than two decades by the time the retirement was announced. Version 6 added improved private health claiming through Tyro HealthPoint, plus a Xero integration, with tailored modules for different allied health professions.
This is the one case on this site where the payments question is secondary. If you are an allied health practice still on Bp Allied, the integrated claiming you rely on — HealthPoint at the desk, private health rebates on the spot — sits on software with no vendor maintaining it. Sort the migration first, then pick the terminal to suit whatever you land on, because a terminal certified against a retired product is certified against nothing.
Health claiming at the terminal
Certified through Tyro for Tyro HealthPoint. Tyro is its own acquirer, so claiming through the terminal means banking with Tyro.
Connected through
A POS reaches a bank through middleware. Each card below is one certified route; the banks it reaches are on the middleware page.
