Capable 21c — practice software and bank compatibility

Capable 21c is practice-management software for allied health and health. An old-school Australian office management system that covers chiros and accountants and solicitors out of the same codebase.

Tyro only. Tyro is its own middleware and its own acquirer, so this one comes with the bank attached — moving bank means a new integration.

Certified to do split bills, HealthPoint private health claiming, Medicare bulk billing, Medicare Easyclaim and multi-merchant. Tyro rates it a Power Up partner.

Capable 21C comes from Capable Software Pty Ltd, an Australian developer, and it is a practice and office management system rather than a POS: appointments, patient records, paperless visit notes, invoicing and receipting, debt collection, automated patient calling, reporting, and stock control as a separate optional module. Health fund claims are handled, and New Zealand customers claim through ACC Online.

The thing that makes it unusual is the client list it names — chiropractors, dentists, GPs, orthopaedic surgeons, physiotherapists, podiatrists, psychologists, naturopaths and iridologists, alongside accountants and solicitors. Almost nobody else builds one system to span clinical and professional services like that, and it is a fair signal of what the product is at heart: a generalist appointment-and-billing engine that has been pointed at whichever profession asked, rather than a system tuned to Medicare and allied health claiming the way Zanda or Zedmed are.

We could not find a founding year, an owner or a customer count on the public record, so treat scale as unknown. Tyro certifies it at Power Up tier and tags it for allied health, and the question to put to them in a demo is specifically which claiming paths are live — their own pages talk about health funds and ACC rather than Medicare.

Health claiming at the terminal

Certified through Tyro for Medicare Easyclaim — bulk bill, Medicare Easyclaim — part paid, Medicare Easyclaim — patient paid, Tyro HealthPoint. Tyro is its own acquirer, so claiming through the terminal means banking with Tyro.

Connected through

A POS reaches a bank through middleware. Each card below is one certified route; the banks it reaches are on the middleware page.
